An eclectic restaurant in Roslindale that used to be located in the Back Bay and the South End is getting ready for a return to the Back Bay.

According to the Boston Herald, Geoffrey's Cafe is looking to open in the space on Berkeley Street where the New American restaurant Laurel presently resides. Geoffrey's started out near this spot (on Boylston Street) about 20 years ago, opening a second location on Tremont Street in the South End a couple of years later, then closing the Boylston Street space a year after that. Geoffrey's eventually moved to Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay but soon closed, then reopened in 2007 at its present space on Washington Street in Roslindale Village. (The Herald mentions that the Roslindale location will remain open.)

Geoffrey's Cafe features a mix of New American and comfort food items on their menu, including grilled sausage, spinach and artichoke dip, burgers, pizza, gnocchi, beef bourguignon, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, vegetable cous cous, and steak tips.

Both Geoffrey's and Laurel have been featured on our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants). The reviews for both can be found below:
